lyrics

And he went squalling into the night
Stalking the far corners

He stood and gazed around
(Watching)
With beaming somniferous eyes
Frantically scowering
And clawing

He fearlessly stepped out in the alley
He courageously stepped out into the city

Descending the depths
Descending the depths
(Descending the depths)

The city with its ever-present haze
Accumulating dust akin to a spiraling maze
Its vastness stands before him
(Stands before him)
Unyielding
Ceasing to relent

Haunting and perplexing
In the throes of insomnia
The metropolis stands before him
Buildings all aligned
Distorted with a tainted hue
Come together

Strolling down the avenue
A momentary reprieve of angst
Quells the lurking thoughts
Thoughts which inevitably make their way back to him

Heart racing
Figures surround him like indistinguishable masses
Forms converging
Mired in trepidation
As the darkened streets engulf him
Hesitatingly taking each step

In a dark room he sits
Concentrating
Ineffable voice chatter sporadically in his head

He tries to maintain his clarity
Distorted images burgeoning
And flowing
Dark glow

Permeating the emptiness
Crepuscular light seeps in through his window
