Antipodes The antipodes of our existence Antipodes Unavailing efforts to rectify the antipodes The gleaming crystal (The antipodes) Marred by murky smog Waiting in the depths to unabashedly reveal itself A blur, a stain Misconstrued hellion Ensnared by incongruent ambitions Ascetic yet unmistakably wicked Wayward, errant Misguided heteroclite on the path to an autotelic existence Begot from he an impasse Everlastingly forged Gazes down upon a flower This, too, is tainted Blighted by the unyielding force of entropy

Eradicate the vainglory For a glimpse of the perennial knowledge within A manifestation An ephemeral dream Clear for a passing second In the next beclouded and unseen Stands at the phantasmagoric doorway On the other side A darkness looms Opaque Swelling Overbearing Glances into the threshold Takes a perfunctory step backwards All within view Palpable Anchored His surroundings dissipate into omnidirectional smoke Wisps enmeshed Infused The darkness dispelled Weaved and intertwined Inlaid and abeyant Waiting to be enlivened...

My consciousness slipped The four of us standing in the room We were no longer separate beings Became figments of our friend’s imagination Our realities herein connected Only a parcel of one another Only a piece of one another An outward appercipient form Accumbent on the wall Aphonic and immersed Antipodal, antipodality
5.
A stone cast starboard The ripples like fleeting curtains Each infinitesimally intricate And amply amorphic I raise my head to peer onward As I mutely inquire “Is there a new drop to be found?” Overpowered by trepidation I take a breathe And move unflinchingly forward Into the ever-growing expanse A neoteric who feels the gripping reality set upon me: “To find anything new I must be alone Not many would venture here But where is the new?” I nod off and awaken, not knowing how far I’ve come I find myself unhinged by another question “Can I make a new drop from the sea before me? Can I use the water around me to make something unique and unparagoned?”

about

Unlike previous releases, the lyrics of Antipodal Existence were written prior to the music, which greatly influenced the whole creative process for these tracks. I kept the lyrics intentionally convoluted to allow the listener to interpret them in his/her own way. On Antipodal Existence I have merged acoustic instruments, electronic soundscapes, field recordings (recorded mostly while touring or traveling) with a diverse range of vocal styles: spoken-word, intricate vocal harmonies and screams with increased use of synthesizer. As with each album, there is a unique cast of musicians who help shape the tone of a record. Many of the collaborators featured here, I met while briefly living in Israel from November 2019-January 2020. It was really amazing how many things came together in such a short span of time.

I discussed the album more in depth here: www.kms.reviews?p=4921
